Mike told me that last night when he was putting the kids to bed, he was covering Older Daughter with a quilt my mom made. He said, "Do you know who made this quilt?" She said, "Yes. Oma." Younger Daughter, almost 22 months old, said, "Oma die."
I guess she has some understanding of what's going on. Maybe more than we've been giving her credit for.
Wow, that's pretty advanced for a kid so young to understand death. Maybe she just knows that everyone else said that Oma died so she repeats it? Who knows...

Yeah, I think you're probably right. I don't think she gets what it really means. She's definitely aware that there's something going on, though.
